Lovely spacious Maison de Village with pool situated in the village of Gabian, surrounded by the vines of the Pezenas and Faugeres areas of the Herault. Only a minutes stroll to buy freshly baked croissants for breakfast. Equidistant from the Mediterranean coast at Agde or Sete and the foothills of the Cevennes. Situated on the edge of the Haut Languedoc National Park and ten minutes from historic, cultural town of Pezenas. Very well situated for all the attractions of this region.
This charming VILLAGE HOUSE was built around the turn of the century and retains all its original features including languedocienne tiled floors and marble fireplaces. It is attractively furnished and everything required for your holiday is provided.
In the height of summer the house remains cool due to its thick walls and shutters.The house is very well maintained and very comfortably furnished.
The SUNNY COURTYARD garden is totally secluded and perfect for dining and sunbathing around the newly completed, low-chlorinated POOL.There is also ample shade throughout the day for those who prefer it. Soak up the sun or snooze on sunloungers in the shade of the beautiful mulberry tree. In the evening candlelight makes it the perfect setting for dining al fresco. BBQ.
Five BEDROOMS sleep 10 very comfortably. Two large rooms have king size beds, another has a queen size bed and the two other rooms both have two single beds.All rooms have plenty of storage. All linen is provided. Fans in all bedrooms if needed.
There are BATHROOMS with toilet and bath or shower on each of the upper floors and a third loo and basin on the ground floor.They are light and spacious. All linen and towels are provided. Beach towels are not provided. There is plenty of hot water. Hair drier provided.
KITCHEN is very well equipped with cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine.
DINING ROOM with table that will seat at least ten people.
LOUNGE with two large sofas, TV, DVD, video, books.
This lovely Maison de Village with pool is situated in the village of Gabian, surrounded by the vines of the Pezenas and Faugeres areas of the Herault. We are equidistant from the coast at Agde or Sete and the foothills of the Cevennes. We are situated on the edge of the Haut Languedoc National Park.
Gabian has a grocer, baker, pharmacy and bar/restaurant and is 10 minutes from the cultural, historic centre of Pezenas and only 20 minutes from the region's capital, Beziers.
Getting to the Languedoc is so easy now with Montpellier Airport 50 minutes away (Ryan Air & BA) and Toulouse Airport (BA & British Midland) approximately 2 hours away and a train link to Beziers, which has a main line railway connection. Other airports serving the Hérault are Carcassonne, Perpignan and Nimes about one hour's drive.
For those who prefert o drive down, the new suspension bridge at Milau is stunning and has cut a good hour off the journey time.

Out and About
The house is very well situated for all of the attractions of this region. All holiday tastes can be catered for here. There are beautiful scenic walks and cycle routes in the surrounding countryside. There are many Vineyard Domaines around Gabian where tastings are available.
Only a ten minute drive away is the wonderful medieval town of PEZENAS which buzzes with cafes, restaurants, art galleries, arts and crafts shops and cultural events. Don't miss the Saturday morning market in Pezenas! PEZENAS is well served by large modern supermarkets and plenty of restaurants.
The beautiful beaches of AGDE are about 25 mins away, as is the CANAL DU MIDI. The lively naturist resort of CAP D'AGDE has an attractive marina, plenty of restaurants and evening entertainment. Between MARSEILLAN and SČTE there is a 7 mile stretch of beach. Watersports are also available at the LAC SALAGOU about 15 mins away. There is also fantastic swimming in the crystal clear waters of nearby rivers and their waterfalls. The Gorges De L'Héric and the River Orb are good examples. The water is crystal clear. For the more adventurous, hire a canoe and paddle down the river, picknicking en route!
Being so near to the Mediterranean coast, wonderful fresh fish and shellfish are in abundance and served at the many local restaurants.
SETE, the Venice of the Languedoc is nearby and holds its famous 'water jousting' tournaments throughout the summer.
BOUZIGUES is a must for shellfish lovers.
A few minutes up the road from Gabian in MAS ROLLAND is an award winning goats cheese farm. A few minutes on from there is the reservoir, a favourite place of the locals for a quiet swim.
Golfers can enjoy an 18-hole golf course at BEZIERS and a 9-hole course at LAMALOU-LES-BAINS, also famed for its healing spas.
Horse lovers will find several equestrian centres at nearby villages.
Most villages in this area have tennis courts available to members of the public.
St Guilhčm le Desert, Perpignan, Carcasonne, Nimes, the Pont du Gard are some of the many other places well worth visiting.
After your day out and about in the region, chill out and enjoy a glass of one of the many local wines around the pool in the secluded courtyard.
